In 2020 I ran a videographic workshop for some colleagues, for which I experimented with some new exercise ideas. One of them was the “Random Vignette”:
- Let X be a random number, between 25-50 (https://www.random.org/integers/?num=1&min=25&max=50&col=5&base=10&format=html&rnd=new)
- Let Y be a random movie (https://www.suggestmemovie.com/)
- Let Z be a random English phrase (https://randomwordgenerator.com/phrase.php)
- Make an X-seconds-long video, using clips from Y, connecting them in some way with Z
I made this video as a proof-of-concept. Nothing much came of this exercise idea, and I ended up discarding it after the workshop ended.
And yet, I can’t help but wonder…
